9th Grade Placement
Placement in mathematics courses is based on several factors, including entrance test scores, department recommendation and input from the student and parent(s)/guardian.

Basic Placement Guidelines and Prerequisites:
- Intermediate Algebra Concepts: Successful completion of algebra in eighth grade; benefits by going at a slower pace. This course is intended for students who need extra time to master mathematical/algebraic concepts.
- Intermediate Algebra: Successful completion of algebra in eighth grade.
- Advanced Intermediate Algebra: Above average student who is motivated, responsible and able to learn at a fast pace. Must take AHA Algebra Proficiency Exam. Get Study Guide on right.
- Advanced Geometry: Successful completion of a high school level Algebra 1 course in 8th grade. Above average, mature, responsible student who is able to learn at a very fast pace. Must pass AHA Algebra Proficiency exam. Get Study Guide on right.
- Advanced Algebra II: Successful completion of a high school level Algebra 1 course in 7th grade and a high school level Geometry course in 8th grade. Above average, mature, responsible student who is able to learn at a very fast pace. Must pass AHA Geometry Proficiency exam. Get Study Guide on right.
